Oscar-winning singer Noel Harrison, the son of My Fair Lady star Rex Harrison, has died at 79.

He was best known for the hit The Windmills Of Your Mind from The Thomas Crown Affair, which won an Academy Award for best song in 1968.

But he was also an Olympian — representing Great Britain at the 1952 and 1956 Winter Olympics as a giant slalom skier.

Harrison also starred in the television series The Girl from UNCLE and had chart hits with A Young Girl and Suzanne, written by Leonard Cohen.

He spent much of his life in America but moved back to the UK in the last decade to live in South Devon, where he died.

Harrison played Glastonbury Festival’s Spirit of ’71 stage in 2011, marking 40 years since his first appearance at the event.
