Youssou N'Dour to run for presidency of Senegal

Singer Youssou N'Dour will run for the presidency of his home country Senegal.

The 52-year-old musician, whose duet with British singer Neneh Cherry 7 Seconds was a global hit, said today: "I have studied at the school of the world. Travel teaches as much as books."

N'Dour will stand against incumbent Abdoulaye Wade, 85, in the February 26 poll.
