Adele’s net worth: everything you need to know about the singer’s multi-million pound empire

As she prepares to release her fourth studio album, we look at how Adele’s wealth stacks up

Adele’s recent release of new single Easy on Me is just the start of her comeback. Following her six-year hiatus, during which she divorced her husband Simon Konecki, and amidst huge anticipation of her new album ‘30’, the singer remains one of the UK’s richest musicians.

With her fourth album set to drop this week, Adele, 33, has re-emerged from the pandemic glowing, keeping us entertained with hilarious Instagram live streams, a Vogue cover shoot under her belt, and prime-time interview with Oprah Winfrey in the US. Performing at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles for the CBS special ‘One Night Only’, Adele looked happier than ever as she reminded the crowd and viewers of her classics as well as teasing her new music.

Released on October 15, Easy on Me broke records in the UK for most streams in a week, with over 24 million. Her last album ‘25’ went platinum in just 24 hours, becoming the fastest selling album of all time, and the singer is expected to make a fortune with the release of 30.

The new album will see the Chasing Pavements singer address her divorce from Konecki, whom she was married to from 2018 and shares son, Angelo, born in 2012. Though the divorce was kept mostly private, it was widely speculated that Adele and Konecki had not signed a pre-nup agreement, which posed a threat to the singer’s strong fortune.

According to The Sun, the divorce amounted to £140 million, though the former couple remain on good terms with the singer purchasing a $10 million LA pad close to her ex-husband. Adele recalled in a recent Rolling Stones interview that the divorce left her feeling “embarrassed”, an emotion she candidly addresses in her new single. The star has now moved on with sports agent Rich Paul, who has his own net worth of an estimated $100 million.

The North London-born artist once told Vanity Fair, “I don’t come from money. It’s not that important to me.” Even so, she happens to have a lot of it. For more on Adele’s net worth, read the full breakdown below.

Adele has a net worth of £132 million, according to the Sunday Times Rich List. Between 2009 and 2019 the singer earned $400 million and sold more than 100 million records worldwide. The Brit’s wealth has dropped since last year when her net-worth amounted to £150 million, most likely taking a hit due to her divorce and pushing back her album release in light of the pandemic. However her comeback will likely allow her to quickly recover this, with a prime property estate in the US and UK, billboard status and wealthy new boyfriend, the star maintains an international millionaire status.

How big is Adele’s property empire?

From Holland Park to Hollywood, the singer has managed to build a substantial property empire on both sides of the Atlantic. Starting off with her first property in Notting Hill, Adele has upscaled considerably over the years, relocating numerous times to West Sussex countryside and now Los Angeles, California.

With ex-husband Simon Konecki, she snatched up numerous properties, including two adjacent Kensington townhouses at a combined cost of £11 million, a $3.8 million Malibu villa and then in 2016, a $9.5 million Hidden Hills mansion. Three years later she bought the property next door for $10.64 million and another neighbouring house for $10 million, meaning she and her ex-husband can now co-parent son Angelo in close proximity.

Although the singer claimed in the recent British Vogue interview that “the kind of house I have in LA I could never afford in London. Ever.”

Adele made a phenomenal amount of money on the back of her last tour, ‘Hello’, which wrapped up in London on June 2017. According to NME, her touring company Remedy Touring LLP announced that the tour made £142 million - with Adele personally bagging £42 million.

Those immense profits did not come without a high cost, as Adele was forced to cancel her final two shows of the tour due to medical reasons. The singer, who was set to perform at Wembley Stadium in London for both shows, revealed that she had damaged her vocal cords and that she was “already maxed out on steroids and aids for my voice”.

She apologised on social media in a lengthy note, in which she mentioned she had even “considered miming” to avoid cancelling, and wrote, “You know I would not make this decision lightly. I have done 121 shows and I have 2 left. 2 left!!! And they are 2 gigantic shows! Who the f**k cancels a show at Wembley Stadium? To not be able to finish it, is something I’m really struggling to come to terms with. It’s as if my whole career has been building up to these 4 shows... I’m sorry, I’m devastated,” she continued.

When 25 was released, The Sunday Times reported that it was the “fastest selling album in UK chart history” - selling 800,000 copies in just its first week and 3.38 million overseas in the US. Despite not having released an album in a while, she remains on Billboard’s Top 100 Artist ranking and has featured on the list for a mammoth 225 weeks.

Adele currently has three studio albums to her name, each titled after the age she was when she released them. Her debut album, titled ‘19’, was released in 2008, her second ‘21’ was released in 2011 and ‘25’ was released in 2015.

When is Adele’s new album out?

30 is due to be released on November 19, and the album will feature the single Easy on Me, as well as other tracks, including Love is a Game, I Drink Wine and Hold On.

Just this weekend Adele returned to the stage as part of her One Night Only special hosted by Oprah. Taking to Twitter, the star expressed her excitement in a thread: “The most beautiful venue I’ve ever played. Thank you to everyone who made it possible. To Oprah for allowing me to tell my truth lovingly in a safe space. The whole thing was pretty overwhelming, I’ve seen it twice and cried my eyes out both times.

“Having been on such a rollercoaster the last few years and then the pandemic, it was hard to imagine being on stage singing again ever. So the fact that I got to and also got to sing my new songs, has me feeling a million things at once!

“It was also the first time my son saw me perform and I’ve never been so nervous in my life!! I hope you like it, tune in tonight at 8:30pmET / 8pm PT on CBS x”

Who is the new album about?

Adele began working on 30 at the start of 2019, the same year she announced her split from Simon Konecki after more than seven years together. By the time she had finished writing the album in early 2020, the record had become about more than just divorce, with the singer describing it as an open letter to her son Angelo.

In her interview with Oprah, Adele described how the lyric’s to Hold On were particularly revealing about this time, with it being such a huge change in both her and her son’s lives: “It was just exhausting trying to keep going with it. It’s a process - the process of a divorce, the process of being a single parent, the process of not seeing your child every single day. [It] wasn’t really a plan that I had when I became a mum," she said.

The singer’s fourth record is said to be more personal than ever, and its long awaited release comes as the whole album was almost shelved after a year-long delay. Adele admitted: “If it wasn’t coming out now, I think I probably would never put it out.”

With fans set to indulge in the emotional lyrics of Adele’s new work and record predictions anticipating peak sales, 30 could become the singer’s most profitable work yet.
