Edie Campbell says she has witnessed a positive change for models in the fashion industry after she publicly called for better working conditions two years ago.

The model, 28, made the demands in a letter to Women’s Wear Daily. “[The letter] was part of a bigger conversation about how unbounded fashion is,” she told Hello! Fashion Monthly.

“One of the ways that manifests itself is the general dehu- manisation of models in a fashion show setting — having to change in front of everyone from the caterers to the photographers.

“A couple of years ago it became mandatory for the big shows to have changing areas and it felt so nice. It’s changing now, so that’s good.”

Campbell, from west London, posed for a shoot with artist Christabel MacGreevy, with whom she created her fashion brand Itchy Scratchy Patchy.
