Louis Vuitton is selling a giant volleyball for £1,600

The item gives a whole new definition to the word 'baller'

When you think about summer holiday necessities, suncream and swimwear probably come to mind, but what about a giant designer volleyball?

No? Well, Louis Vuitton has gone ahead and created one anyway. The luxury sports item features a patchwork effect of trendy monogram prints and punchy hues.

"Take the Monogram Giant volleyball to the beach or simply adorn a wall with this irreverent design," reads the product description on the French fashion house's e-commerce site.

After seeing the luxury beach item's £1,680 price tag, though, chances are you'll have second thoughts. The ball even costs more than the brand's cult New Wave Chain Bag (£1,390) or, you know, the total cost of your summer holiday.

That said, the ball does also come with its own very stylish net bag - so technically it's a very expensive two-for-one deal.

Even more shocking than the £1,600 price tag, is that the item has already sold out.

As has the similarly sporty £1,680 beach bat set and matching £885 bottle holder.

But, not to fret, if you want to get your hands on summer Vuitton accessories, the £375 beach towel and £880 monogrammed earphones are still up for grabs.
