Burberry, Versace and Dior are just a few of the power fashion houses who are brightening up the runways with rainbow hues this season.

Although the autumn/winter months are normally reserved for the darker hues, in 2018 we can expect an uplifting prism of shades to infiltrate our wardrobes as several designers favour a fun and vibrant aesthetic.

No more so than Burberry, whose iconic check got a rainbow revamp for Christopher Bailey's last collection after 17 years at the helm of the popular British brand.

Taking to Instagram prior to his final fashion show debut Bailey explained:

"My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to and in support of - some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world. There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity."

The much-anticipated show did not disappoint as it was awash with colour.

Edie Campbell took to the runway in a unisex rainbow gilet, meanwhile Cara Delevigne poignantly closed the catwalk wearing a stylish pride flag cape draped around her shoulders.

However, Burberry wasn't the only designer to use a kaleidoscope of colour during London Fashion Week. Fyodor Golan created an array of multicoloured striped creations in collaboration with MTV, meanwhile Ashish showcased yet another collection bursting with a variety of shades and sparkle.

The playful aesthetic then continued to Milan where Versace fully embraced colourful archive prints, Missoni debuted a range of head-turning knitwear and Marco de Vincenzo created magical multicoloured puffer jackets.

And with Fashion Week now on its final stop in Paris, the colourful creation aren't stopping there.

Dior recently showcased a range of rainbow patchwork garments, which were quickly followed by flamboyant floral dresses and a standout shaggy wool-blend knit coat.

And with a few more days of stylish shows still left in the Parisian city we're sure to see more dazzling designs hit the runway.
