As the who's who of Hollywood descended upon the Shrine Auditorium for the 26th Screen Actors Guild awards last night, the stars' sartorial choices were as much of a talking point as the award winners.

While high-octane gowns were the trend sported by stars including Laura Dern, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Jennifer Lopez, the less conventional look of a two-piece also made an appearance.

Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who scooped the award for Best Comedy Actress, sported an Armani Privé duo, which comprised a quirky mesh top worn over a black bandeau and a black maxi skirt.

While her co-star Sian Clifford also opted for a two-piece, this time a burgundy tuxedo courtesy of Zuhair Murad.

Elsewhere, 15-year-old actress Millie Bobby Brown sported an all-white Louis Vuitton look, an asymmetrical dress worn over tailored trousers in the same hue.

Speaking to reporters on the red carpet upon arrival, the Stranger Things star said: "I definitely wanted to go with a masculine but very feminine look.”

Her co-star, Winona Ryder, similarly sported a two-piece, which featured a wool jacket, tulle maxi skirt and lace bodice which channelled her all-black look from Beetlejuice.

Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood star Margaret Qualley also got the two-piece memo as she opted for an iridescent black wool Chanel offering.

The SAG Awards doesn't limit its guest list to solely those nominated for awards, unlike the Golden Globes and Oscars. Instead, the Screen Actors Guild, made up of thousands of performers, gets to choose the nominees and the winners.

Because of this, the ceremony generally has a more intimate vibe to it, meaning the stars tend to have more fun with their sartorial choices (see the colourful ensembles sported by Emily Blunt, Laura Harrier and Laverne Cox last year for proof.)
