Street style highlights from Paris Fashion Week as the front row master the art of high-low dressing

This week's unpredictable weather and array of dress codes called for a flexible wardrobe

With the season's month-long showcase coming to a close, this week it fell to Paris to stage the final fashion week.

And while our purse strings are already wincing at the smorgasbord of sartorial delights from the French capital's runways, there have also been a number of less wearable options - see Balenciaga's platform Croc and Loewe's lizard-tail trainers for reference.

As is often the case, some of the best wardrobe inspiration and most replicable looks have come from those watching the shows as opposed to walking them.

This season, the Parisian street style set were faced with a number of meteorological challenges, but such is the focus of this stylish brood rain never threatened to stop play. In fact, it encouraged more.

Layering delicate silk slips beneath weighty longline coats, heavy duty boots beneath mini skirts and raw hems, this season's attendees brought their A-game when it came to mismatching pieces from all ends of the weather-appropriacy spectrum.

On day four of the showcase, Caroline Daur stepped out in a bubblegum pink silk midi dress by Celine and velvet black clutch. Adding an more modern, weather-friendly edge to an otherwise elegant look, Daur mastered the art of high-low dressing and opted for a pair of robust white trainers and tightly-braided hair.

Two of the week's most impeccably coordinated guests came in the form of Attico designers Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio, who arrived at the Haider Ackermann show wearing a palette of black, yellow and grey. A detachable sleeve (Tordini) and oversized blazer (Ambrosio) added a cosy feel to a strap vest and bare legs.
