Feel Good Factor: LA Prairie Spring Glow facial

What: A 45-minute facial at Peter Jones using La Prairie's Caviar collection.

Beauty powers: The products contain protein-rich caviar, said to improve skin's elasticity and tone.

The process: The therapist cleansed and exfoliated my skin to remove the London grime, then massaged my face and neck before applying a firming mask. While the mask was working its magic, she massaged my hands and arms. Finally she applied face serum, eye cream, a lip-boosting concentrate and moisturiser to my upper body.

Any surprises? The luxurious treatment room felt a world away from the bustle of the store. I had never had a facial before, so was pleased to discover that a relaxing shoulder massage was included. Friends have warned me about breakouts the day after a facial but happily I was spared any spots.

Transformed? Absolutely. Before the treatment, a few too many late nights had left my skin dry and dull looking, while I had panda black rings around my eyes. Post-facial, my skin was Andrex soft and I looked like a person who always gets eight hours a night.
