Put that nude eyeshadow palette down.

If the Grammys are anything to go by, it’s time to dig out your teenage make-up stash. That’s right, blue eyeshadow is back with a vengeance.

Previously dismissed to the depths of the beauty stratosphere for a myriad of unflattering outings in the noughties, last night’s award ceremony saw Billy Porter, Dua Lipa and Jameela Jamil reinvent the eyeshadow wheel. And let’s just say they weren’t smudging it on with a clumsy index finger.

Never one to bore the crowd, Porter’s now infamous motorised hat whirled open to reveal striking space age wings by makeup artist Christine Nelli in pale matte blue, topped with silver rhinestones at the outer corner of the eyes.

On a slightly more traditional route, Lipa’s makeup artist Samantha Lau created a cobalt blue take on the classic smokey eye to complement the singer’s pared back ivory ensemble.

Jamil, who often does her own makeup, opted for a bold yet simple sweep of cobalt glitter liner accompanied by mascara to match her metallic Georges Chakra dress.
