The mists and fiery colours of autumn are captured today in resplendent images of London’s parks.

In a range of coppers, burnished golds, browns and yellows, the pictures — including two taken by award-winning Evening Standard photographer Jeremy Selwyn — feature a tunnel of trees in St James’s Park, a deer with a jackdaw perched on its head in Richmond and an early morning walker in Kensington Gardens.

Also pictured is a spectacular picture of Richmond Park shrouded in mist as the sun rises and a rider trotting through Hyde Park with the Shard visible in the distance.

The dazzling seasonal display of colour is set to be repeated through the rest of the week.

The weather in London is forecast to remain bright and rain-free.

Temperatures are predicted to reach 13C, with Friday promising to bring bright sunshine.

Just another reason to be happy that it's autumn.
