This sleep tech will restore you after an all-nighter

The era of Trump is here and you will never sleep again. Nights will be lost to restless writhing and senseless muttering about walls and the death of the free world.

Not that you slept that much to begin with: insomnia is the London condition. And so, as always, you reach for technology. Mercifully, a new generation of sleep tech is here to help you navigate the post-apocalyptic world.

Quell the panic with the Thync band, a two-part wearable. One part sits on your head, the other around your neck (gently), and both generate small electrical pulses that are supposed to calm you down. It pairs with an app, where you can select the appropriate pulsation programme (£160, thync.com).

The Juvo Sleep System, pictured (£154, juvolabs.com) uses a small mat that sits under the mattress which monitors your heart rate, breathing and movement as you sleep. Use the app on your phone to set a smart alarm: Juvo will wake you up at the lightest moment in your sleep cycle to minimise the impact of re-entering the land of the living.

The Witti Beddi is also an alarm clock. It incorporates a white-noise generator to block external sound and is illuminated by a gentle strip light. It will wake you with a sunlight simulator (£80, wittidesign.com).

If your partner snores try Nora, a small unit that sits on your their side of the bed and is paired with a small inflatable pillow. The unit has a mic that, if it picks up snores, inflates the cushion, stirring them out of noisy slumber.
