If you’ve always had a soft spot for The Little Mermaid, and you enjoy lounging around on your sofa under a multitude of blankets as the colder weather sets in, this might be the Christmas gift for you.

A shop on Etsy is now selling crocheted blankets in the shape of mermaid tails, perfect for anyone wants to vegetate on the sofa but still look like a sea goddess.

Simply pull the sack-like blankets to your waist and marvel as you are transformed into a magical mermaid.

The sacks come in two colours - pink and purple - and in three sizes: child, toddler and a generous adult (which means budding mermen can get on board too).

Each one of these snuggly blankets is selling for between $100 and $200 and, according to the seller, takes about 8 weeks to make.

So sadly, you won’t be able to pick one up for December 25, but we think a late Christmas gift is a small price to pay for endless evenings of mermaid magic in front of the TV.
