GET OFF A PLANE LOOKING GOOD

by Nicky Kinnaird, founder of Space NK

Try not to wear any make-up during the flight: apply a little before you land. By Terry's Light-Expert is a travel-friendly foundation that covers redness and imperfections. Lipstick Queen Oxymoron in Honest Politician is the perfect holiday lip and cheek tint.

Decant your lotions and potions. I always use Space NK travel containers.

Use Eve Lom TLC cream as a face mask mid-flight. By the time you land, your skin will be hydrated and glowing.

Drink as much water as possible and stick to fresh fruit, especially on long-haul flights. Caffeine and alcohol exacerbate dehydration.

I carry a small pot of Space NK body balm in Stillness with me. It contains lavender essential oil and is soothing, calming and great for moisturising hands.

TRICK OR TREATMENT
Voya organic muslin bag wrap and massage at the Berkeley Spa

The promise

The process It's a good idea to sort out your skin before you head off on holiday. The best way I've found is with a Voya scrub, wrap and massage at The Berkeley Spa.The 100 per cent organic hand-harvested seaweed is full of minerals and antioxidants, including iodine which regulates the body's metabolism. After a sauna and swim in the rooftop pool, I lay in a warm treatment room, eye mask in place, for a full-body scrub. After a hot shower, I was covered head to toe in a seaweed mask (so I looked like the Creature from the Black Lagoon) and covered in organic muslin. An hour-long body massage, using seaweed oils, was the final stage.

The verdict I left in a state of bliss and my dry skin (owing to the prolonged cold spell) has never been so soft. I am no longer afraid to strip off on the beach.

Organic muslin bag wrap, £90 for an hour; massage, £90 for an hour, at The Berkeley Spa,Wilton Place, SW1 (020 7235 6000).
