Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement at the end of November, there’s been no end of speculation surrounding the logistics.
Who will design her dress? Who will be her maid of honour? Where will the pair jet off to for their honeymoon?
Botswana (where the couple first camped together) and the Maldives have all been namechecked in the swirling rumours but one place that definitely could be in the running is the small Caribbean island of Nevis. If you haven't heard of it - that’s the point.

Harry first visited it with her back in 1993, when the pair stayed at the Montpelier Plantation and Beach Inn and he returned in November 2016 as part of his official tour on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen.
Remaining free of high rises and mega-resorts, Nevis reflects the Caribbean of yesteryear - secluded, untrodden white beaches, a sea free of zooming speed boats and lush, virgin rainforest that blankets the mountains. If you think it sounds romantic, it is. There’s actually a beach, where Prince Harry previously released baby turtles back into the ocean from, called Lovers Beach.
This destination really would be the perfect place for some R&R as well as adventure. You can walk to the island’s volcano, explore the vegetation looking for wildlife, snorkel to look for wild sea turtles and stingrays, enjoy watersports and experience some of the island’s world class food. Due to the size of the island and its ban on fast food restaurants, all of the eateries on Nevis use locally sourced natural ingredients which we’re sure the pair would approve of.
Only time will tell where the couple do decide to holiday post-nuptials but we reckon this idyllic island certainly has a fighting chance.
