The newly refurbished Hilton Barcelona is the height of good taste
Hilton Hotel Barcelona
16 July 2012

The refurbishments at the Hilton Barcelona, which opened on Avenida Diagonal during the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, have transformed the 289-room and 13-suite hotel into a contemporary and striking venue.

Award-winning Italian designer and architect Matteo Thun (Missoni in Edinburgh and Kuwait) transformed the public areas and particularly the lobby with a more fluid design — a feature rolling out across several Hilton outposts. The 15-metre high lobby encompasses seating areas, a bar and restaurant, the airy space divided by white drapes.

Centre stage is a striking orange suspended art installation by Milan-based artist Jacopo Foggini. British designers Bevis Design Associates went to work on the rooms, suites and executive lounge, with high padded headboards, MP3 players, striped carpets and wall art mirroring the lobby extravaganza.
