Gary Lineker and wife Danielle will reportedly be granted a quickie divorce today after disagreeing over having children together.

The couple are said to have been living different lives for a year and have decided to split over their differing views on having more children, according to The Sun.

Former England footballer Lineker, 55, has four children from a previous marriage and the actress, 36, has a 14-year-old daughter from a previous relationship with Coventry player Adam Willis.

It is thought that Danielle, who uses her maiden name Bux, wanted to have a child with the Match of the Day host, but he did not want to expand their family because he is “too old”.

The Sun claims the couple will be granted a quickie online divorce at 10am on Wednesday after they filed for divorce together using a government website.

A source told the newspaper: “They made a great couple but their different views on having children is what made them realise [they] had to split.

“They both know it is the right thing to do and are looking forward to the future. They are convinced they will stay friends.”

The couple, who are said to have remained on good terms, married in Ravello, Italy, in September 2009.

A spokesman for the couple said: “Gary and Danielle have decided to end their marriage and their divorce was confirmed today with the judge granting a Decree Nisi.

“They remain the greatest of friends and wish each other every happiness.”
