Comedian Miranda Hart has offered a reward for the return of her stolen laptop which contains new material.

Her home in Shepherd’s Bush was burgled on Friday night and the 40-year-old actress took to Twitter yesterday to make her desperate plea.

She said: “If people who stole my laptop last night in W6 out there. Please please please return. Precious creative projects all lost. Will reward.”

Her plea has been retweeted by more than 1,500 fans hoping she will be reunited with her material.

Details of the lost material were not disclosed, but Ms Hart is preparing for a 41-show live tour next year. This will be her first stand-up comedy tour since her successful BBC series Miranda.

According to a neighbour this was the second time she had been burgled in 18 months.

On the previous occasion the thieves stole her two-week-old Audi.

She told the Daily Telegraph: “She is always working, she will be devastated by this.”

A police spokesman said: “Police were called to an address in Shepherd’s Bush to reports of a burglary on Friday 11 October at 11pm. A number of items were stolen.

“Officers from Hammersmith and Fulham investigate. There have been no arrests.”
