This is the incredible moment two robbers on a motorbike are filmed and chased by bystanders as they flee the scene of a jewellery heist.

The extraordinary footage shows shoppers confronting the duo after a smash-and-grab robbery at a city centre jewellers.

Police said the two men launched the raid just before 3pm today Arthur Kay and Bro jewellers in Manchester.

One of the men got off the high-powered green Kawasaki motorbike and smashed the window with a sledgehammer before stealing jewellery from the display and making off on the bike.

The incredible footage, shot by a bystander, shows the pair being challenged by members of the public as they try to make a quick exit.

One is heard saying "Got ya mate, f***ing got ya" as another approaches the motorbike as the duo try to flee the scene.

Other shoppers are then forced to jump out of the way of the bike as it speeds away through a taxi rank.
