A gang of smash and grab raiders have been jailed after they made off with luxury items worth £70,000 from a designer store in the West End.
Shocking CCTV footage shows the moment the men kick down the door of Louis Vuitton, in Sloane Street, during the early hours of June 26 last year.
Wearing crash helmets, the men can be seen snatching armfuls of designer handbags, belts and purses worth more than £70,000.
Blackfriars Crown Court heard the gang of five men were arrested in Islington shortly after the raid and officers recovered a quantity of the goods from a property.
A judge sentenced the men to a total of 26 years in prison during a sentencing hearing today.
David Kelly, 30, of Moray Road, Finsbury Park, was sentenced to seven years in prison and Michael Lewis, 28, of Upminster South, Rainham, was sentenced to six years.
Both were found guilty of conspiracy to commit burglary at the Louis Vuitton store at an earlier court case on January 15.
Brother of David Kelly, Alan Kelly, 21, of the same address, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison. Daryl Salisbury, 25, of Kelvin Road, Highgate was handed six years and Kavosh Jalali, 24, of Crescent Way, North Finchley, was sentenced to four years in prison.
All three had pleaded guilty of conspiracy to commit burglary at an earlier hearing.
DCI Steve Ellen from the Met's Flying Squad said: “This audacious theft was shocking to both staff at the store and passing motorists.
“Thanks to the Flying Squad the gang were quickly identified and arrested and an amount of goods recovered.”
