This is the moment a man was brutally attacked by two thugs and left unconscious in the street in east London.

CCTV cameras filmed the sustained assault carried out in Newham earlier this month.

The footage shows the victim, 23, being punched to the ground by one of the attackers.

Then as he tries to get up, the other man appears to boot him in the face, knocking him back down. Both men then pile in with further blows as they drag him around the street.

The victim had to be taken to hospital after he was found by police and paramedics and was treated for facial injuries.

The footage was released by detectives as they step up their search for the two attackers.

The victim was set upon while drawing money from a cash point outside Barclays in High Street North at about 1.20am on Sunday, June 5.

“The victim shouted back but was immediately confronted by a second taller man who punched him in the face,” the spokesman added.

The first attacker was described as being of Mediterranean or South European appearance, about 6ft 2ins tall, wearing a dark top with a light colour across his shoulders.

The second man was also appeared to be of Mediterranean or South European appearance and was about 5ft 6ins. He wore a black baseball cap, a dark top and dark jeans, and white trainers.
