A Fathers 4 Justice protester “deliberately” vandalised an official portrait of the Queen at Westminster Abbey, a court heard today.

Tim Haries, 41, of Doncaster, was apprehended by abbey security guards yesterday.

The divorced electrician, charged with criminal damage, did not enter a plea at Westminster magistrates’ court. He was freed on bail until a hearing on June 28 at Southwark crown court.
