Two men are being held on suspicion of murder over the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Gary Scott in Finsbury Park this week.

Gary, known as GJ, was knifed to death as he walked home from a friend’s birthday party in Edmonton on Tuesday.

On Thursday his mother Annette Gill made an impassioned plea for her son’s killers to come forward, saying: “I am a mother and I forgive you. Please, I’m appealing, I’m begging you to come forward. Please, my son was only 17.”

Her son was the 19th teenager to be murdered in London this year, and the 15th to be stabbed to death.

The family, from Tottenham, had moved to Woodford Green.

Gary was a student at Waltham Forest College and was thought to have been walking to meet friends following the party when he was attacked in quiet Marquis Road, Stroud Green.

Two men, aged 27 and 30, were arrested on Thursday night over Gary’s killing and are in custody at a police station in south-west London.

Anyone with information about Gary’s death is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8785 8244 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
