This is the woman whose body was found dumped in a suitcase on a north London sports ground.

The family of 25-year-old production assistant Alexandra Kovacs, 25, today paid emotional tributes to a “happy person who was always laughing”.

The body of Ms Kovacs, originally from Zalaegerszeg in Hungary, was found in a suitcase near a sports ground in Thornfield Avenue, Hendon, at around 5pm on Sunday.

Family and friends poured out their emotions on social networking sites at the loss of Ms Kovacs, who was affectionately known as Szandika.

Balazs Kovacs, also from Zalaegerszeg and who is believed to be a relative, posted: “Words can not describe the pain, just to wipe the tears. And we cannot expect us to cry. I mean, you were always so cheerful.

“There are so many beautiful memories you left us here. Do you remember how much you used to laugh? Let us keep the beautiful memories.”

Krisztian Kovacs, also believed to be a relative, posted a YouTube video compilation of photographs of her on this Facebook page, entitling it ‘Szandika’, including one of her standing in front of the London Eye.

He wrote: “Unfortunately you left but memories remain with us forever”, “I miss you” and “Gone forever.”

Kulcsar Timea posted simply: “Rest In Peace Alexandra Kovacs :(“

Bea Vancak wrote: “I can not comprehend!” while Fanni Takacs wrote: “Life can be so cruel.”

Police are appealing for information. Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Wall said: “Did you see anyone moving a heavy black trolley-type suitcase on or after July 18, especially around the Thornfield Avenue/Dollis Road entrance of the wooded area?

“We are also interested in hearing from anyone who is concerned about any young adult females who have gone missing from the immediate area recently.”

Further tests are due to be carried out on her body after an initial post-mortem examination proved inconclusive.

Police patrols have been stepped up in the area where the body was found.

Call police on 020 8785 8334 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

:: A 29-year-old man was appearing at the Old Bailey today charged with the murder of Miss Kovacs sometime between Wednesday, July 17 and Sunday.
