A young man has been repeatedly stabbed in broad daylight in south London, police said.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, has been rushed to hospital after being found with "a number of stab wounds" on Tellson Avenue, Greenwich.

His condition is not known at this stage.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed the attack happened at 2.40pm and the victim has been taken for treatment at a south London hospital.

The spokeswoman said: "He was taken to a south London hospital. We await an update on his condition.

"A crimes scene and cordons have been established.

"At this stage there have been no arrests.

"Enquiries continue."
