Police have named a young father killed following a vicious assault in Harlow.

Cristian-Marin Patru, 24, died following an attack at a home in The Hides in Harlow at 5.40pm on Monday.

Mr Patru’s father Cristi posted a heartbreaking tribute to his son, on Facebook: “It’s been a week my boy since I heard your voice, a week since our souls were emptied, a week since we lost everything our joys, hopes, love, meaning of life.

“Come home daddy’s boy, let’s be the perfect family again.”

He added: “I call you at night but you can’t hear me... no matter how loud I scream.”

He told the Standard: “Cristian-Marin was an energetic child, full of life, always smiling. He liked to bring the room to life wherever he was. No word can express the pain, the suffering that has nestled in our souls.”
