A man has been arrested after a shopkeeper was stabbed during a robbery in north London.
Two members of staff were injured during the incident, which took place on Grand Parade, Finchley, on Tuesday.
One shopkeeper was taken to hospital with a non-life threatening injury while the other suffered cuts to their hand.
The suspect allegedly fled with a number of stolen items, including the shopkeepers' bank cards.
The Metropolitan Police confronted the suspect on Finchley High Street.
He threatened them with a large kitchen knife and was Tasered, police said.
He was arrested on suspicion of robbery and grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been taken into a north London police station where he remains in custody.
Detective Sergeant Gary Taylor, from the Flying Squad, said: “This incident is a great example of fantastic teamwork between Flying Squad and local officers, who were quickly able to identify and arrest a dangerous individual. Our thoughts are with the victims and we wish them a speedy recovery.
“Sadly, this incident is also an example of the dangers police officers face day in, day out while protecting the communities they serve. Luckily, no officers were harmed during the confrontation with the suspect as they were able to bring the situation to a safe conclusion.
“Violence towards police officers or members of the public will not be tolerated and we are dedicated to ensuring such offenders are swiftly brought to justice.”
