The man was left needing hospital treatment for a cut to his forehead.

Police have released CCTV images of two men they think will be able to assist them with their investigation

Detective Constable Graeme Knox said: “I’m keen to speak to anyone who thinks they might recognise the men pictured or who was at the station at the time and witnessed the incident. Violence of this kind is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated on the rail network.”

A 27-year-old man, of Hackney, was arrested on May 6 in connection to the attack on suspicion of affray and has since been released on police bail until July 9.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference ESUB/B3 of 11/06/2014. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
