Man charged after a car was crashed into branch of Toys R Us and he 'ran naked through store armed with cricket bat'

A man has been charged after an incident in which he allegedly crashed a car into a branch of Toys R Us before running naked through the toy shop with a cricket bat.

The alleged incident at the store in Kingsway West, Dundee, also resulted in a woman being treated for facial injuries.

A 41-year-old man is due in court tomorrow charged with assault, public indecency and road traffic offences, in connection with yesterday's incident, which happened at about 2.35pm.

He is set to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court, police said.

In a statement, police said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 41-year-old man has been charged in connection with an assault, public indecency and road traffic offences at Toys R Us, Kingsway West, Dundee on Sunday, April 5.

"He is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday, April 7."
