A man has been charged with attempted murder after a police officer was attacked in Clapham, south London.

Julian Peters, 35, will appear in court on Thursday morning facing charges of attempted murder, making threats to kill and having an article with a blade or point.

The female officer was attacked after being called to a disturbance in Lynette Avenue at about 9pm on Tuesday.

She was not injured and completed her shift that night.

Peters will appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court.
