A man from south London has appeared in court charged with terror offences.

Mohammed Alam, 31, from Croydon, was arrested at a business address in south London on Tuesday afternoon by officers from the MPS Counter Terrorism Command.

He was this morning charged under the Terrorism Act 2006 with distributing or circulating a terrorist publication.

He appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded in custody.

Mr Alam will next appear at the Old Bailey on January 8.
