A man was found suffering a serious head injury in a east London cul-de-sac on Sunday morning, following a suspected assault.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was discovered in Tring Close in Harold Hill, Havering, around 8.15am.

Officers and paramedics were called to the scene and he was rushed to hospital in a “serious” condition.

His head injury has since been assessed as “not life-threatening”, police said on Thursday.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known, but police believe the man was attacked.

Scotland Yard is appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Det Insp James Rush, from the local policing team in east London, said: “We believe the man was approached by a woman in a car after becoming injured and I urge her to get in touch with us.

“Similarly, if anyone has information concerning the identity of the suspects or footage of the incident we’d very much like to hear from you.”

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting 1938/03Sep.
