A man was left with "life-changing" injuries after being brutally attacked by thugs in north-west London.

Colin Flett, 52, could not speak for weeks after the horrific assault in Cricklewood.

He had been drinking with his brother in the Beaten Docket pub when he bought a bicycle from a man he met outside.

Mr Flett left the pub on the bike and turned into Skardu Road, where he was met by a group of three men who shoved him to the ground.

He does not remember anything further - but was left with a spinal injury and unable to talk after being attacked on the night of Friday July 7.

Detective Sergeant Richard Greenwood said: "This was a vicious attack that has left Colin with life-changing injuries, in a very vulnerable state, and has had a devastating effect on his family.

"We would urgently ask any person with information, however inconsequential they may think it is, to come forward and pass this to us directly or via a third party. They will be treated in complete confidence."

Mr Flett's attackers are described as white and aged between 20 and 30.
