A man was rushed to hospital this afternoon after he was stabbed near to a betting shop in East Dulwich.

The man was stabbed in the leg following an altercation outside a branch of William Hill in Grove Vale just after 2pm today, police said.

The incident happened just yards from East Dulwich railway station.

The man, who is believed to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital as a priority, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "We were called at 2.10pm to reports of a man in his 20s being stabbed.

"He had stab injuries to his leg but his condition is not believed to be serious, he has superficial wounds.

"No arrests have been made at this time."

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman added: “We were called at 2.07pm today, 26 July to reports of a stabbing on Grove Vale, East Dulwich.

“We sent an ambulance crew and a single responder in a car to the scene.

“We treated a man for a stab wound and took him as a priority to a hospital in south London.”
