A mother has been charged with murdering her baby daughter in west London.

Italian national Federica Boscolo-Gnolo, of no fixed address, was charged on Friday with the murder of Farah Boscolo-Gnolo aged just over three months old.

The 31-year-old was arrested on Thursday after she reported the baby was missing from a hotel in Hammersmith and Fulham.

Farah was born in Chioggia, Italy, on November 22, police said.

A statement from the Met said: “Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating and, although no body has been found, detectives obtained authority to charge Federica Boscolo-Gnolo with murder.”

She appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on February 3.

Police continue to investigate the full circumstances of the baby’s disappearance.
