A motorcyclist is fighting for his life and a five-year-old boy has a serious head injury after a crash in east London.
The Met has now launched an appeal for witnesses to the collision, which involved a KTM mototcycle and a Vauxhall Zafira, happened shortly before 4pm on Friday in Ballards Road, Dagenham.
It also left two other children in hospital, where the motorbike rider - a 22-year-old man - is in a critical condition.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Our staff arrived within two minutes. There were four patients. The male motorcyclist was in a very serious condition.
"The other three patients were children. They were all conscious.
"One boy had serious head injuries. The two others, a boy and a girl, were checked over and treated for minor injuries."
The boy, seven, and the girl, 10, were also taken to hospital.
No one has been arrested and the 38-year-old driver of the car was unhurt. The road was shut between Rainham Road South and School Road while police, ambulances and London's Air Ambulance treated the crash victims.
Police are advising drivers to avoid the area.
