Murder arrest after woman found dead at flat in north London

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in a flat in north London.

Police and paramedics were scrambled to an address in Plevna Road, Edmonton, shortly after 6pm on Monday.

The woman was discovered with serious injuries inside the property. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers had been called to a report of a concern for safety, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The suspect who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.

A Met Police spokeswoman added: “A crime scene is in place. Enquiries continue.”
