A murder probe has been launched after a pensioner suffered fatal head injuries in an assault in north London.

Amirali Manji, 81, died in hospital on December 3 after he sustained injuries on November 29.

Police and paramedics were called to a home in Kingshill Drive, Harrow, and found Mr Manji suffering serious injuries consistent with an assault.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died from his injuries.

A post-mortem examination, which took place on December 7, found the cause of death to be head injuries.

Mohsin Manji, 44, of Kingshill Drive, Harrow, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and appeared at Hendon Magistrates Court on November 30.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on January 29, 2016.
