Police hunt duo after man attacked by armed group in New Malden

Police are hunting two men after a man was attacked by a group of people in south-east London.

Detectives named Jake Davies-Gaynor, 24, and Joshua Michael Tobert, 27, as two people they want to speak to in connection the assault in New Malden.

The 37-year-old man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital after the attack Dickerage Lane at around 3.20pm on Monday.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Officers were called after the victim was assaulted by a number of men, some armed with weapons - a bat was recovered at the scene and a number of other weapons were found nearby."

Two other men, aged 55 and 30, have been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and have been bailed until September pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Chance Rowan, of Kingston Police, said: "There were a number of people in the area at the time of this assault who may have seen what happened.

"I would urge anyone who has seen these two men, or knows where they are, to contact police immediately."
