Police are hunting a man after two teenager brothers were brutally attacked as they boarded a bus in east London.

The boys, aged 16 and 17, were waiting at a bus stop outside Tesco Express in Heathway, Dagenham, before the alleged assault which left both brothers with head injuries.

They noticed a man staring at them around 5pm on September 26 but ignored him.

As the bus pulled up the suspect reportedly lashed out and punched the younger boy in the face several times, knocking him to the floor.

The older boy leapt to the defence of his sibling and kicked the alleged attacker who then retaliated by punching him numerous times in the face and head.

The victims fled on a second bus and were later treated by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

Police have realsed a fresh CCTV image of the suspect, who is described as a white man, in his mid-20s, and around 5ft 8ins tall.

At the time of the attack he is said to have been wearing a grey hooded top, dark blue jeans and black Nike Air trainers.

Anyone with information or any witnesses are urged to contact PC Naomi Goodman via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
