Police are hunting a thug who spat at and punched two train passengers in an unprovoked attack at London Euston.

One victim was left with serious head injuries as the man launched a savage assault on the platform after the train pulled into London from Manchester Piccadilly, police say.

He spat at the pair after he got off the train and then threw punches at both of them before he fled to Euston Tube station where he caught a Northern line train travelling north.

The attack took place on platform 14 on Saturday, December 10, at 11pm.

Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to following the assault.

PC Suzanne Canning said: “This was an unprovoked attack and I am keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed the attack.
