Police warned there could be "many more" victims of a sexual predator who hacked into a girl's Facebook account and groomed her friend after he was given a suspended sentence in court.

Mohammed Sarang, 19, created a fake account on the social network after taking over the identity of one of his victim's friends.

Using the alias Nicola Hay, he pretended to be an agent and befriended young girls, telling them he could find them modelling jobs.

He would then offer them webcam auditions in which he would ask them to undress and perform sex acts.

But Sarang's identity was revealed when the mother of one of his victims became concerned at an online conversation she discovered her daughter had been having.

The woman contacted police, and Sarang, of Pembroke Road, Wembley, was arrested after a joint investigation by the Met and Greater Manchester Police.

His home was searched and detectives found conversations between him and his victim.

Detective Sergeant, Simon Filer of the Sexual Offences Exploitation and Child Abuse Command said: "Sarang was using a number of online aliases in order to exploit impressionable young girls into thinking they could become models.

"Once gaining their trust, he would incite them into performing sexual acts for his own gratification. He is a dangerous sexual predator.

"I believe there may be many more people who Sarang has befriended and abused through social media sites. I would ask them to contact me via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Sarang was given a two year suspended sentence, a two year supervision orders, a five-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order and was ordered to attend a 60-day training programme at Harrow Crown Court on Friday.

He had pleaded guilty to inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity, taking indecent photographs of a child under 16 and causing or inciting child pornography at the same court in December last year.
