Police are investigating an alleged rape in a north London park in the early hours of this morning.

A crime scene remains in place in Clissold Park, in Hackney, after a woman alleged she had been raped, Scotland Yard said.

Officers were called at around 3.10am on Wednesday.

Pictures from the scene show a cordon in place in Clissold Park as police continue to investigate.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police are investigating an allegation of rape that was reported to officers at around 3.10am on Wednesday. A woman alleged she had been raped by a man in Clissold Park.”

Hackney Police added: “There is currently a crime scene within a small part of Clissold Park.

“Park users can continue to enjoy most of the park at this time but please respect the cordons in place.”

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
