Former glamour model Samantha Fox has claimed her missing cat Maxi could have been murdered by a cat killer in north-east London.

The 51-year-old hinted that the so-called Croydon cat killer – thought to have murdered more than 230 cats since 2014 – could be behind her pet’s disappearance.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant appealed to fans on Twitter, saying: “Our lovely cat Maxi is missing. He's friendly & fluffy. Worried as cat killer loose North East London. 300 dead. Please tweet if you see him.”

The tweet has been shared over 300 times, with people offering their support and sharing hope that he will be found soon.

The notorious cat killer is believed to have started the brutal “killing spree” in Croydon but decapitated moggies have since been discovered as far away as Brighton and Manchester.

Animal welfare group South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty believe the killings have been carried out by one person due to the “similarity of injuries”.
