Police close off streets in Southall, west London amid stand-off with ‘man inside property with gun’

Police have cordoned off roads around a property in West London amid reports of a man with a firearm inside.

Armed police have been seen on the scene in Saxon Road , Southall.

Police have said the man is with someone inside the address and has refused to come out when asked by officers.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Saxon Road, Southall, at 2.12pm on Thursday, 21 January, to reports of a man with a firearm.

“Officers attended. The man has refused to come out of a property when asked. As a precaution, nearby roads have been closed.”
