Detectives hunting for a sex attacker who assaulted a young woman in an alleyway in New Cross have released an e-fit image of a man they want to question.

The victim, who is aged in her 20s, was attacked as she walked along Monson Road in the early hours of Sunday November 9.

She screamed and her attacker punched her before walking away towards Old Kent Road at about 3am.

Scotland Yard said the suspect was chubby with short dark hair. He was about 35 years old and 5'5". He was wearing a hoodie with tracksuit bottoms and white Air Max trainers.

He was of Mediterranean appearance, a police spokesman added.

The woman has since received specialist support at a Haven Centre.

Anyone with information can contact police on 020 8721 4640 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
