A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a man’s body in south west London.

Stephen Wallis, 50, was found at his flat in Barclay Close, Fulham at 4pm on Tuesday, February 15.

Officers forced entry after concerns were raised for Mr Wallis’s welfare.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

On Sunday, Gary Curran, 52, of no fixed abode, was charged with murder, having been arrested the previous day.

Curran will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “We are still very keen to build a further picture of Stephen’s life and his movements before his death.

“We would like to speak to anyone who knew him, especially if they saw him in the days and weeks before he was killed.

“We understand that coming forward with information can be daunting. Our officers are here to support you and I would urge anyone who knows anything to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is urged to call police directly on 0208 785 8244, providing the reference 6293/15FEB, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
