A young man has been jailed over a stabbing in a Brixton bar which left a teenager in hospital for eight days.
Alex Suarez-Aguirre knifed a 17-year-old during a brawl at the El Penol bar in Brixton Road in November 2013.
Police were called after the victim walked into King's College Hospital with a stab wound, following the attack on November 13.
He was treated for kidney and spleen injuries as he remained in hospital for over a week.
Suarez-Aguirre, now aged 19, of Abinger Grove, Deptford, was locked up for six years on Friday after being convicted of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Detective Inspector Tracey Miller said: "This was an extremely violent incident in which the victim suffered serious injuries.
"The length of the sentence reflects the gravity of the offence and will hopefully deter others who are considering carrying or using knives."
The bar had its licence revoked after the attack.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "The venue did not call the police after the stabbing and initially denied knowledge of this incident, although officers had statements from the victim and witnesses that the stabbing occurred inside the venue.
"The El Penol bar was closed down and had its licence revoked following the incident, due to breaches of the licensing conditions."
