A teenager was rushed to hospital after he was found bleeding in a Holloway street.

The 15-year-old, who had suffered a stab wound, was found by police in Liverpool Road, near its junction with Lowther Road.

Police officers came across the boy at about 2.45pm this afternoon, and he was taken to hospital.

Officers said the boys injuries are not life threatening.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

The incident comes just 24 hours after Islington Council announced it has ringfenced £500,000 to spent on keep young people safe, in response to an increase in youth violence in the borough last year.
