Two men who died in a police car chase in north London were named today.

Gregory Jones, 38, and Shaka Kane Henry, 33, both from Archway, were killed when the black Audi they were travelling in is believed to have jumped a red light, clipped a white van and collided with a bridge on Seven Sisters Road in Haringey.

The crash happened while they were being chased by police in the early hours of Friday morning, Barnet Coroners Court heard today.

Police tried to save the men but they were pronounced dead at the scene. A third man, who was driving the car, was held at the scene. The 30-year-old, who has not been named, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Investigations by the Independent Police Complaints Commission and the Met’s road deaths unit investigations are under way.
